Physical Science A

PHYSICAL SCIENCE A is first in a series of two courses designed to introduce students to the study of the nature of things. The course introduces students to the scientific method and inquiry processes. The course explains lab and field safety along with methods for conducting scientific experiments and communicating results of experimentation. The course leads students to an understanding of the atomic nature of matter, the elements, and the Periodic Table. Students will examine the properties of matter and explore the composition and the behavior of acids and bases. The course concludes with a description of energy and the properties of matter.
