High School Program

The high school experience at Middlebrooks Academy is unique in that our focus is to provide an environment that is sensitive to the demands of balancing school and sport. We believe that academics and athletics go hand in hand and offer students the ultimate opportunity to prepare for collegiate-level academics and athletics with experienced educators, college preparatory classes, creative coursework, a low student-to-teacher ratio, a top-tier coaching staff and access to quality training facilities.

Academically and athletically challenging individualized instruction for every student is a Middlebrooks Academy standard. The initial focus is in mastering fundamentals and then moving to higher order skills that develop a student's responsibility in the learning process and promote critical analysis and thinking to meet instructor expectations. Each student is a partner in the learning process and finds that instructors and coaches at this institution expect students to actively participate in the learning process, while always being available to students to encourage the process. This partnership between student and instructor/coach develops a student who is well prepared for success at the college level.

At Middlebrooks Academy, rigorous instruction athletically and academically in the standard core subjects of English, math, and science significantly enhance a student’s SAT scores while preparing them for a multitude of challenges in different collegiate disciplines.

ACADEMICS DESIGN
Our year round high school academic program is designed to ensure students complete the minimum 16 core courses required by the NCAA within 3 years (grades 9 – 11). This provides for early clearance by the NCAA Eligibility Center, which we have found enhances the recruitment process for our students and a higher percentage of athletic scholarships than many other institutions. During the senior year we focus on finalizing UC/CSU system requirements to include Visual and Performing Arts classes in the students portfolio of completed coursework as well as college application assistance and intense SAT/ACT test preparation in our effort to produce superior scores.

In addition, students experience an educational program that is designed to prepare them to attend the right college for them based on their academic ability, interest, and needs. Students complete six core academic subjects during the school year. The Academic day allows students time to meet with their teachers should they have questions or difficulties in a particular subject area.
