Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the most common questions asked about our Post Graduate program:

What does Middlebrooks Academy look for in a student-athlete?
Middlebrooks Academy looks for student-athletes who have a strong commitment to academics, athletics and personal growth. Student-athletes must be diligent in their school and sport community duties, with a willingness to give their all in every area.

Is the Admissions process competitive?
Absolutely. Each sport has a predetermined number of spaces available and our classes are capped to maintain low student-to-teacher ratios. We enroll a limited number of students annually from a large pool of qualified applicants, so we encourage interested student-athletes to submit an application as early as possible.

How good do I have to be at my sport?
Past athletic performance is not the determining factor for acceptance. Most importantly, all prospective student-athletes are required to have a demonstrated passion for their sport and a motivation to reach their full potential, along with realistic expectations for future college opportunities. Middlebrooks Academy does not guarantee you will get to a NCAA Division 1 school nor do we believe philosophically this should be the student-athlete’s personal determining factor of success. We believe that student-athletes should vigorously pursue being the best version of themselves each day and understand that collegiate opportunities (or lack thereof) will match their demonstrated abilities and skill sets in contrast to other student-athletes that make up a highly competitive and global marketplace.

What if a student-athlete gets injured?
If an injury occurs that keeps a student-athlete away from normal training and participation, Middlebrooks Academy will actively participate in the rehabilitation activities for the student-athlete as laid out by their selected physician. Our goal is to allow student-athletes to seamlessly transition back into their sport after rehabilitation and receiving a medial release from participation.

What are the academic requirements for admission?
The academic profile necessary for admission to Middlebrooks Academy varies from year to year based on the pool of applicants. As a general rule of thumb, we are seeking student-athletes who have at least met the minimum standards for qualification through the NCAA Eligibility Center and/or are no more than 2 semester core academic courses away from qualification.
